A BEF grant enabled the purchase of a library of tricks that the 40 budding magicians of the TCMS Magic Club can borrow and practice. The club leveraged this grant very effectively, as it not only helped the members grow their skills and presentation abilities, but it positioned them to grow the success and reputation of the club ...and it enabled a nice piece of community service work.

TCMS science teacher Vince Mancuso is the club advisor ...and a former professional magician. In addition to the grant from BEF, Vince arranged a grant from the district which enabled the club to build some large-scale illusions that literally set the stage for a full-scale magic show.
The students' hard work culminated in an end-of-year magic show that raised over $1,500, half of which was donated to Camp Good Days & Special Times. The remainder will fund the continued growth of the club, adding new tricks to their library and new illusions to their repertoire.
BEF is pleased to have supported the development of a club that not only builds the skills and self-confidence of its members, but also serves its community admirably. Their successful show and fundraising experience earned them stories in the Brighton-Pittsford Post and in the BCSD Central newsletter. We're proud to have played a small part in their success!
